How to Become SPACE4Cities Replicator or Follower City
At SPACE4Cities, we are not only committed to enabling innovations in our buyer cities and regions, but want to ensure that other European cities and regions can benefit from the solutions created by the project.
Future Capacity-Building Events
Throughout 2025 and 2026, we will organise further capacity-building events for other cities and regions to learn from our initial experiences in co-creating suitable solutions with the suppliers we select through our pre-commercial procurement process.
Webinar Series for Cities: Discover 20 Space-Based Urban Solution Innovations!
In May 2025, our procurement selected 20 solution providers for the first stage to develop a detailed solution design that target some of the most pressing challenges cities and regions face—leveraging satellite data and space technologies to drive real-world impact. To give you early access to these innovations, we’ll organise a capacity-building webinar series 25–26th June. These online events offer firsthand insights into each solution and how it could apply to your local needs.
You are welcome to join as many sessions as you wish, based on your interests. See agendas and register here:
- Session 1: Infrastructure and Ground Monitoring
- Session 2: Green Spaces Management
- Session 3: Climate Risks in Public Spaces
- Session 4: Mobility and Emissions
Past Activities
Throughout 2024, we organised a series of webinars providing an overview of what is possible with modern space data and technologies already today. The series explored examples of existing solutions and technologies and how they solve challenges in urban mobility, climate adaptation and resilience and the management of urban green spaces. These events have been recorded and are available freely for any city or region interested in learning more about the topic.
We also conducted an online survey in 2024 from August to October to allow other European cities and regions to provide feedback on our challenges for the upcoming procurement call and how they align with their priorities. This feedback has been reflected in the tender specification for our forthcoming procurement.
We will then choose 10 of these suppliers by Oct 2025 to establish a proof-of-concept for these solutions in the second procurement stage. Finally, by July 2026, we will select 5 suppliers for the third and final procurement stage to fully develop their solution and pilot it in one of the five buyer cities and regions.

After every selection stage, we will organise webinars showcasing the selected solution ideas in different thematic areas. These webinars will be open to other cities and regions so we can learn together as we progress through the various stages of solution specification, prototype design, and pilot implementations.
Call for Replicator Cities and Regions to Join our Pilots
Once the five final suppliers are selected for pilots and the final solutions are clearly known, we will launch an open call for replicator cities to join our pilot activities. This call will happen during July-September 2026.
We aim to select 10 replicator cities to join the pilots in our buyer cities, with two additional replicator cities per pilot.
The benefits of the replicator city will include:
- A free three-month solution pilot and favourable commercial terms to sustain the solutions beyond the pilot. The project procurement fully covers the costs for these solution pilots.
- In addition, each replicator city or region will receive 2500 EUR of project funding to cover pilot-related travel or engagement expenses.
- Peer-to-peer knowledge exchange with our buyer group cities and regions throughout the pilot phases of our project.
