Open Data Sources from Buyers’ Group Cities
Open data sources will be updated throughout the project. Suppliers chosen to participate in SPACE4Cities can request additional data sources from the SPACE4Cities consortium, which will be considered on case-by-case basis.
Amsterdam
- Toegangspuntmobiliteit.nl and ndw.nu: Mobility data insights into traffic patterns and public transportation.
- Data.amsterdam.nl: Provides environmental data extensive information on greenery, air quality, and urban planning.
- Nederlandin3d.nl and ahn.nl: Platforms offering detailed geospatial data and 3D Mapping and LiDAR data.
- Crowdsourced Information: The CMSA API enables the integration of crowd data into urban analysis.
- SAR data: Amsterdam has procured SAR data which is available on request.
Attica Region
- Region of Attica Open Data Hub: offers mobility datasets, including traffic patterns, public transport schedules, and infrastructure projects, to support urban planning and transportation analysis. NTUA Mobility Observatory offers traffic data from Athens Metropolitan Area.
- Air Quality Measurements: Ministry of Environment and Energy provides up-to-date air quality indices, measuring pollutants like PM10 and PM2.5, supporting efforts to improve public health and reduce pollution.
- Geospatial data: National Cadastre & Mapping Agency (EKXA) offers detailed geospatial data for land use, property boundaries, and urban planning, essential for infrastructure development and legal applications.
- OpenStreetMap for Attica: A collaborative map platform offering editable, detailed geospatial data for roads, landmarks, and public spaces in Attica, suitable for custom analyses.
- Greece’s Open Geospatial Data Portal: public datasets for planning and analysis.
- Athens Geoportal: Interactive platform providing maps and geospatial data for Athens urban infrastructure.
Ghent
- Open Data Portal – City of Ghent: Including car & bike traffic & parking, road infrastructure, EV charging, public transport, parks & green spaces, biological valuation map, drought, noise pollution datasets.
- City Map Gent: Visualises many available geo datasets.
- Gent In Cijfers and Dashboard Gent provide statistical data including mobility and urban planning data.

- Mobility data: including traffic, roads, charging, road signs, parkings, bike network, public transport datasets.
- Climate data: including soil sealing, heat islands.

- Federal Open Data and Federal Mobility datasets.
Guimarães
- Guimarães Open Data: Open data platform offering geographic data about the city. It includes information on mobility, urban planning, and demographics.
- Land Use Regime Charter – Guimarães: Official document managed by the Directorate-General for Territory (DGT) that defines land classification, usage rules, and guidelines to ensure sustainable urban development and natural resource preservation.
- Guimarães Urban Tree Inventory: Available data on urban trees at species and individual levels that includes water retention and CO2eq sequestration per individual. A caveat is the limitation of data to the urban and periurban area.
- Urbia Guimarães: Public platform that shares data (including real time) on river water quality, air quality, noise, temperature, air pressure.
- E-Redes Open Data: Energy related indicators at the municipal and parish level.
Helsinki
- Helsinki Region Infoshare: Regional open data portal, with datasets on demographics, economy, and urban planning. Many of the datasets are also available over open geospatial standard interfaces.
- Helsinki Map Service: Geospatial data, maps, aerial imagery of Helsinki.
- Paikkatietoikkuna by National Land Survey of Finland: Topographical maps and satellite imagery from various public authorities of Finland, also covering the Helsinki metropolitan region.
- Avoindata.fi by Digital and Population Data Services Agency: The national open data portal, with data on demographics, infrastructure, and geography.
- Open Data by Finnish Environmental Institute: Open national environmental and location data.
- Helsinki 3D Models: the city of Helsinki maintains a set of 3D city models that can be used in conjunction with other open data sources to support the Suppliers where needed. Public 3D model available online.
