Context

As part of SPACE4Cities’ Open Market Consultation (OMC), the OMC Webinar Series aims to foster interactions between our procurer cities and all kinds of suppliers – companies, research institutes or non-profits. Participating in the webinar allows to directly ask questions to procurers via Slido, to anticipate procurers’ needs and to prepare for the €2.87 million call for tenders by influencing our requirements.

Sustainable, accessible and affordable urban mobility for all citizens increases the liveability of a city and the wellbeing and health of citizens. Indeed, sustainable urban mobility usually encompasses public transportation, shared mobility services and active mobility like walking and cycling.

The initiative focuses on solutions that not only allow for a more dynamic use of mobility within cities but also aim to significantly reduce emissions in the transport sector. Furthermore, cities face the issue of peak demand which, combined with planned and unplanned disruptions, leads to greater congestion.

The topics covered include the design of low-emission zones, deeper insights into the management of car use and parking across cities and the improvement of cycling infrastructure.
